Cosmism in music and painting for Equinox
We combine incompatible: the music of Jean Michel Jarre and the visual work of Boris Smirnov-Rusetskiy. All of this is Cosmism, especially relevant on March 21 on Solstice Day, when Spring enters our life completely and irrevocably, we begin to look at the sky - clear and mysterious. These authors were the forerunners of the new, fresh in music and visual art. Cold and distant landscapes of Smirnov-Rusetskiy and "inanimate music" by Jean Michel Jarre come to life in our hearts, revive us, as always in these days, the March calendars, this is the beginning of the year, the creative year, not only for the creators but also among their viewers.
March 21 is a turn day not only of our Earth but it is also a turn in the consciousness. The similar ideas may arise in different places of our Earth, to people born in a different times, of different descent and education. We combine the master of Russian cosmism Boris Smirnov-Rusetskiy and Jean Michel Jarre. They were absorbed in cosmism, Russian and French, at the same time in different areas of creative activity. Both reached the top. This top continues today in the dissemination of pictorial ideas of Boris Smirnov-Rusetskiy and Jean Michel Jarre in music. They have such a different fate, but their fame is equivalent. Both of them are very popular both in London and Moscow, New York and Paris. And we in Odessa are proud of the fact that only in our city there are collections of works by Boris Smirnov-Rusetsky and collectors of disks by Jean Michel Jarre. They both were innovators, each in his way; youth and followers were drawn to them. And this is the most important thing in art - the continuity.
This is not the first joint action of the Odessa Roerich House Museum and the Kandinsky Art Center. This creative alliance has already been secured by a number of projects. The purpose of this action is to expand the audience, which could know and love the work of the great creator Boris Smirnov-Rusetskiy, and to show him open to everything new in the world. And this is very important for our openness to every kind of Art.
