The digest “Grigory Maltsev — a painter from a legend” is a collection of studies, memories of the life and work of the Russian painter-expat- Grigory Maltsev (1881–1953). The book includes archival materials published for the first time: the artist’s letters stored in the Manuscripts Department of the State Russian Museum, Maltsevs home archive. And correspondence of Galina Nikolaevna Petrova, a researcher at the Astrakhan Kustodiev State Art Gallery with the daughters of the artist Varvara and Marfa Maltsev, who live in Italy. The book “Grigory Maltsev — a painter from a legend” by G. N. Petrova is a joint project of the Odessa Roerich House Museum and the Astrakhan Kustodiev State Art Gallery. This publication is the second in a series “Archives. Research.”
