Letters of H. P. Blavatsky to the Odessa newspaper Pravda

The publication is dedicated to the 120th anniversary of Helena Petrovna Blavatsky.

The book “Letters by H. P. Blavatsky to the Odessa newspaper Pravda” is the second edition of eight letters-feuilletons by H. P. Blavatsky about American life, written for the Odessa newspaper Pravda in 1878.
The articles were placed in the Art section of the newspaper with the permanent title “Iz-za morya, iz-za sinego” (From behind the Blue Sea) and “Pis’ ma iz Ameriki” (Letters from America) under the heading “From the New York correspondent of Pravda.” In her letters to Odessa, H. P. Blavatsky, in a humorous form, describes the social life of New York and Americans. An introductory article by Olga Bogdanovich covers the story of the writing of letters by H. P. Blavatsky, as well as the story of the newspaper Pravda. The Pravda, over the three years of its existence, published many articles by well-known writers such as E. Zola, A. Dode, and V. Hugo as well as famous Russian journalists. The book also includes an essay by E. G. Petrenko, — “H. P. Blavatsky and Ukraine,” “Picture of N. K. Roerich ‘Herald,’ dedicated to H. P. Blavatsky.”
