The brochure «Roerich Pact and the Banner of Peace» has been reprinted at the initiative of Andrey Anatolievich Gorchakov, head of the Princely House of Gorchakov, professor emeritus at the Institute of the League of Culture and Social Commonwealth (Ukraine — Israel), author of the Peace Mission project.
The second edition is dedicated to the 78th anniversary of the Roerich Pact and the 45th anniversary of the Odessa Regional Peace Council. The publication covers the history of the Roerich Pact and its relevance, explains the deep meaning of the Banner of Peace as a universal symbol, common to all mankind, for people of any race and faith.
The original English publication was prepared by the New York Committee of the Roerich Pact and the Banner of Peace (USA) and published in 1947. For the first time, it was published in Russian in 2005 on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Roerich Pact. The translation into Russian was done by K. Shundyak and K. Gilevich, the co-workers of the Odessa Roerich House Museum. An introductory article to the first edition was written by E. G. Petrenko, director of the Odessa Roerich House Museum.
