26 June at 16.00, in the exhibition hall of the Odessa Roerich House Museum the anniversary exhibition of Victor Poteryaiko’s drawing «Traveling with a pencil» will open. The artist Viktor Poteryaiko — a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, vice-president of the Union of Marinists of Odessa was born on January 9, 1940 in the city of Kherson, in a working-class family. After graduating from Kherson Secondary School No. 5 in 1957, a year later he entered the Odessa State Art College, later named after M. B. Grekov, which he graduated in 1968. He studied from excellent teachers, artists: V. M. Chishko, I. P. Sokolova, M. M. Bozh, N. A. Pavlyuk. The works of Victor Poteryaiko were exhibited in the cities of Italy: Genoa (1977), Szeged (1977); USA: Baltimore (1977); Romania: Tulcea (1983); Japan: Yokohama (1991); Yugoslavia: Split (1982); Finland: Oulu (1982); Czechoslovakia: Prague (2005). The works are exhibited in museums of Ukraine: Odessa, Kherson, Izmail, Belgorod-Dniester, etc., as well as in private collections in the USA, Japan, Germany, Greece, Poland, Holland, etc. The exhibition runs until July 26.
