The publication is dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the great Indian Bengali writer and poet Rabindranath Tagore (1861 — 1941). The translation was done by Konstantin Gilevich, philologist, head of the department of the East of the Odessa Roerich House Museum. The first collection of Rabindranath Tagore’s "Crossing" was published in London in 1918 in English. The author himself compiled the English-language collection of poems «Crossing.» He included poems from his Bengali poetry collections: «Naivedya» (Offering), «Khea» (Ferry), «Gitimalya» (Garland of Flowers), «Gitali» (Collection of Songs and Poems) and «Gitanjali» (Sacrificial chants). This book opens the new series, «Indica. Bharata» of the Odessa Roerich House Museum.
